sys.dm_exec_requests / status question

I noticed an excessively long running full text update query that had a status of of "SUSPENDED" via sys.dm_exec_requests.  From sys.dm_os_waiting_tasks I can see that query also had a WAIT_TYPE of "WRITELOG".  Do update queries go into "SUSPENDED" status when they are waiting on "WRITELOG" operations to complete?

Yes. The process is suspended, because it is waiting for something to complete. This time a log write.
