sys. Requirenmnt fro MOSS 2007 and ISA server 2006
Can anyone tell me what is the system req. for working on .Net 2008,MS SQL 2005/08, share point and MOSS 2007 , WSS 3.0 ,ISA 2006. ? I have windows server 2003 right now, but as ISA is not supported to it, It seems I need to shift myself from 64 to 32 bit. Pl let me know what should I do ? Is there any problem if I will shift my sys. from 64 bit to 32 bit ? Thanks, Jesha

Hello,an ISA server should be it's onw system with at least 2 NICs, so install a server only for this with 32bit and you are done for the ISA server. There is no problem to run different architectures in one domain. Best regards Meinolf Weber Disclaimer: This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights.

Hello,if you read my posting correct, i stated to install the ISA server on a dedicated member server with at least 2 NICs and NOTHING ELSE on that server. And there is no problem to have multiple servers in one domain that uses different OS architectures with 32bit or 64bit.Best regards Meinolf Weber Disclaimer: This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights.

Hi JeshaPerhaps you might consider using a HW based firewall instead of ISA. Then deploy your MOSS inside your network protected by your HW Firewall. You can't install ISA and core internal services like MOSS. ISA will not protect you like this.Even this solution using a single HW FW isn't very secure, but it will be more secure that your initial thoughts.Regards, Rob

Make sure to architect the entire solution first before implementing MOSS or ISA. Here is some good info: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc268368.aspx You need a separate server for your ISA Server. Is it for an internal or external site? Here is the system requirement for MOSS: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc262485.aspx -- Santhosh Sivarajan | MCTS, MCSE (W2K3/W2K/NT4), MCSA (W2K3/W2K/MSG), CCNA, Network+Houston, TXhttp://blogs.sivarajan.com/http://publications.sivarajan.com/ This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights.Santhosh Sivarajan | MCTS, MCSE (W2K3/W2K/NT4), MCSA (W2K3/W2K/MSG), CCNA, Network+ Houston, TX http://blogs.sivarajan.com/ http://publications.sivarajan.com/ This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights.
