switching raid controller on server 2008 r2
Hello, I have an problem here. I currently have an server running with intel software raid. My plan is to remove that controller and add an 3ware controller. I am sure it won't see the controller so I have to install the drivers 1st The thing is how do I do that without reinstalling? It's a domain controller with alot of info on it an reinstall will keep me busy for a month... any suggestions on how to perform this task ?

Hi, You usually need to use an Array Configuration utility, which is uaually supplied by the vendors of the raid controller. In order to change your array config, you will essentially have to rebuild your array from scratch. Consult the vendor. Prepare an addition domain controller for the backup. Thanks.

I know how to create array etc. The main problem is copy the partition with the system ... the whole disk content in order to start the new system with another controller but same data. perhaps some product like acronis true image?
