srv 2012, Dropped Packets.

We have an odd one. On one server we are seeing a lot of event id 2012 srv errors.  We are also seeing a lot of dropped packets when pinging the server but only from 1 floor in our building.  The other floors do experience dropped packets but floor 4 example experiences 1% loss whereas floor 6 experiences 34%.

A wireshark analysis didn't turn up and broadcast storms.

The In Words for the event ID are:

0000: 00040000 002C0001 00000000 800007DC

0008: 00000000 C0000184 00000000 00000000

0010: 00000000 00000000 0000058F

Hi,

Could you provide more information about your environment.  when  this problem occurs the system log record information, screenshots is the best information.

Base on my experience, the most possible is the switching loop, please confirm you have apply the STP related protocal.

Agree with Alex, it could be a switching loop.

If you have implemented STP, there should not be more than 7 switches configured with STP if I remember correctly.

Or you can try to disable some of the switches temporarily to isolate the issue.

If it works normally, then at least you have an idea where to start. Switch issue.

Good luck!!!
