Hi there, For the user to access the server share on Windows Server 2003, it is required for him to setup Share and NTFS permission at least READ permission on the server. Share and NTFS Permissions on a File Server http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc754178.aspx Group is not important. Just because share and NTFS permission takes effect. Hope it helps. Thanks and Regards Scorpio_Milo MCTS: Windows Vista | Exchange Server 2007 MCITP: Enterprise Support Technician MCITP: Server & Enterprise Administrator Microsoft Infrastructure Consultant Enterprise Service: Solution Architect Contact me My Blog

What message do you get when you say he cannot share a folder on his XP machine? Look at this article for file/folder sharing on XP http://support.microsoft.com/kb/304040 I hope this information is helpful

If the user is the owner of the folder, then they should be able to http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb456988.aspx There isn't a whole lot of security on this in XP. What exactly is the user seeing and what type of message are they getting? -- Paul Bergson MVP - Directory Services MCITP: Enterprise Administrator MCTS, MCT, MCSE, MCSA, Security+, BS CSci 2008, Vista, 2003, 2000 (Early Achiever), NT4 http://www.pbbergs.com Twitter @pbbergs http://blogs.dirteam.com/blogs/paulbergson Please no e-mails, any questions should be posted in the NewsGroup.
