sfc /scannow will not run
When trying to run this utility I constantly get "You must have administrator rights to run this." I do have adminstrator rights and have also tried running from an elevated level with the same results. This is a virtual machine, could that be an issue?

sfc /scannow would ideally run without any issues from elevated cmd be it virtual machine or a physical box.
From which account are you trying to execute sfc /scannow, Domain User or Local User ?
Reboot the machine and try running the command from elevated cmd while logged in as local administrator and see if that works.Press any key... What the ... Where's any key ?

Hello Nan,
Hope you are using either win7 or Win2008 server OS. Though you have admin rights open cmd.exe right click|select option Run as administrator and run sfc/scannow. window7
for more details please find below snap-shot.
