server having more than once NIC

Hello,

1)If a server have more than one NIC how are IP's assigned?

2)If i ping a server using it's name suppose (ping machinename), which IP will it resolve?

please explain it's wo

1) No change from previous versions of Windows

2) Which name/IP is registered in DNS?  When you have two (or more) NICs on a Windows host, you generally select a single, routed, IP address to be stored in DNS.

Agree with Tim.

1. We could configure static IP addresses or use DHCP.

2. If it is registered in DNS server, we could resolve the name through DNS server. If it is a Domain Controller, multihome is not recommended.
