server 2008 foundation server, I need to gain access to a folder from a remote computer
I have a windows 2008 foundation server R2 which has a network folder that contains and access database, how do I go about giving a user access to this folder from an XP sp3 machine that is not connected to the domain.

Hello, If you have a folder that you want to access from network then you have to share it and give the needed users correct NTFS and Share permissions. Once done, the user will be prompted for credentials when trying to access the folder and once he insert them, he will be able to access the shared folder. No, the folder is held on my server in one location, but I want to connect to it from another office over the internet and share it? If that makes more sense

For the connection from another office to this folder, you can make them establish a VPN tunnel and then access the shared folder.
