scheduled tasks
How can I copy scheduled tasks from server 2003 to server 2008? When I try to move them as I would from 03 to 03 the 2008 server doesn't recognize them.

Hi, You cannot migrate scheduled tasks from Windows Server 2003 to Windows Server 2008 as the mechanism of Task Scheduler in Windows Vista/Server 2008 is different from that in previous systems. In previous systems, scheduled tasks are .job files while in Windows Vista/Server 2008, they are .xml files. Now we have no way to convert .job files to .xml files. You need to recreate these tasks on Windows Vista/Server 2008. After that, you can export these tasks and import them to other Windows Vista/Server 2008 systems. For more information about Task Scheduler in Windows Vista/Server 2008, please refer to the following articles: Task Scheduler 2.0 http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb756979.aspx Task Scheduler Overview http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc721871.aspx Hope it helps.
