We tried KMS activation and decided to not use it. However, when we removed the KMS service host from Server2008R2, windows says it's not genuine. The copy of Windows 2008R2 is geniune and we tried to re-activate it. It cannot re-activate. Does anybody here have a fix for this. I've searched on the forums and haven't found anything. Hi, The issue is likely that you activated with a KMS key. You can change the product key, see http://forevergeeks.com/change-product-key-on-windows-server-2008 This involves opening the system properties or using slmgr.vbs. -- Mike Burr
