Doing a uninstall from the 2007 Console doesn't work

Do I have to remove the agents from 2007 management group? Looking for a powershell script to do it for all servers in a domain.

Thanx

Hi

A few scripted options are discussed here:

http://www.bictt.com/blogs/bictt.php/2012/05/06/manipulating-scom-2012-agent-multihoming

But yes - you do need to remove the registry key entries for the SCOM 2007 Management Group otherwise the agent will continue to try and contact it.

Still have a issue uninstalling 2007 agent. I have run the script on 2 server to test. It works. 2007 Management group removed

In the 2007 Console the servers are still listed. If I do uninstall, I get successfully uninstalled.

But a minute later I get this error from both servers:

I want to have a good overview of servers that still have the 2007 mgmt group, because i'm not running the script on all server at once.

What am I doing wrong

Thanks

If you uninstall the agent via the scripts then you need to delete the agent from the SCOM 2007 management group as well. Uninstalling the agent doesn't remove it from the management group.

You're right. I need to delete instead of Un-install.

BUT

The issue is that the script doesn't restart the agent service. Just removing the old mgmt group leaves the agent in a "healthy" state in de 2007 Console. After a manual restart of the agent service, the agent is greyed out in the 2007 Console, giving me a better view which agents still have the old mgmt group.

Another headache is to run this vb script on multiple server through preferences GPO. I think I found a better solution.

This did the job for me.

yep - Kevin's blog is the best available for Operations Manager and one worthwhile following.
