Hi, HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\SharedAccess\Parameters\FirewallPolicy\StandardProfile Look for REG_DWORD value named EnableFirewall , 0 means turn off and 1 means turn on. Good luck.

If you want to disable it, Start"=dword:00000004[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\MpsSvc]"Start"=dword:00000004To Enablem is either one of these... Automatic(with delay) Start"=dword:00000002Automatic Start"=dword:00000002Manual Start"=dword:00000003what you do is, launch services.mscd-click on WIndows FIrewall, another windows looking into registry [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\MpsSvcthen as you switch the startup-type, press F5 at teh registry windows...and you can see the value change...

You do NOT want to disable the service - that is NOT supported by Microsoft. Instead, turn off the firewall by using the Control Panel or Windows Firewall with Advanced Security interfaces, or use the netsh advfirwall command-line tool.Dave Bishop Senior Technical Writer Windows Server Networking User Assistance

yes, not only not-supported, it also blocks all connections then in Vista and newer systems because the driver then goes into the so-called Lockdown Mode blocking everything.ondrej.
