reboot file server everyday
Hello,
Is this problem occur to all the Windows 7 clients or part of them? Like MR.X and Sainath suggested, post the IPconfig all output.
Also, when the folder sharing becomes unavailable, please go to services.msc on the File Server and check the Server service. If this service is stopped, file sharing will be lost. Please also check into the Event logs for more clues.
Heres the Microsoft KB for Shared Folders troubleshooting on Windows Server 2003. Hope it helps.

Hello Sachin,
Could you please let us know in your case why the Server service stopped itself and how you solved it? This information may be helpful to Graysbowski.
Thanks
Zhang
In my case the file server was heavily loaded with client requests, my best guess is that restarting the server service refreshed the RPC endpoint mappers to make room for the new connections by resetting the stale sessions.

Hi all,
Windows 2003 file server and Windows 7 and office 2010
We have to reboot the file server everyday due to users can not access shared folders or mapped drive .
Sometimes they can see mapped drive but can not open files etc.
Then we have to reboot and they are fine after rebooting.
So, what caused these issues?
How can we fix this?
Thank you.

Hello,
this sounds for DNS misconfiguration, please make sure clients and servers use ONLY the domain DNS servers on the NIC. Please post an unedited ipconfig /all from a problem machine, the server and the DC/DNS server you use.Best regards

Don't need to restart the server, only restart the server service. It should work that way. I had similar issues in my environment some time ago. Let me know if that works then we can rule out the DNS issues. Sachin Gadhave
