question about domain user
my question is simple.. is there a way to reset the password of local computer (administrator pw) when you're log-in in the domain under user account without an access in local c:drive and administrative tool?

Hello,
this has not really anything to do with a domain user. You can reset the local administrator password with scripts or depending on the OS in use, Group policy preferences.

I have documented this procedure in one of my old blogs:
If you don’t know the password and don’t have access to the severs, you can run this simple script as a Startup/Shutdown script (Computer Configuration->Windows
Settings-> Scripts (Startup/Shutdown) in conjunction with Group Policy. Create batch file (.bat extension) using notepad and add the following commands:
Net User Administrator <your password>
Net Localgroup /Add “Administrators” “Domain Admins”
The first command changes the Administrator password to <your password>. The second command will add the Domain Admins group to the Local Administers group
on the local machine. Add this batch file as either a Startup or Shutdown script. Leave it there for a while or enable the “force restart” of the servers.

Hello,
the local administrator password can only be changed from an administrator account or if you crack it or use some password change tools that require physical access.Best regards Meinolf Weber Disclaimer: This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights.
