problem while migrating to IIS 7.0 on Windows Server 2008 from IIS 5.1
Hi, We've an existing application using IIS 5.1. In this app we were using anonymous authentication. In the SQL database we have Audit columns which were populated using System_User through trigger. This works fine in IIS 5.1 and in the Audit column the Domain\Login ID of the user is entered, users are in the same domain. Now our clients are moving to a new Data center and have to migrate the application to IIS 7.0. But here we are facing issues with the ID that System_User is picking in SQL for populating the Audit Columns. It is picking the Domain\Login ID of the Identity that we have mentioned in the Application Pool. We are using Network Service as the Identity. So System_User is picking Domain\Machine Name on which IIS is hosted. we have enabled Anonymous Authentication and Windows Authentication and in the config file set: identity impersonate="true" but still System_User is picking the Identity that we mention in the App Pool... I tried using Classic .Net App Pool also, but with it also System_User is Picking the identity configured in the App Pool. I am not able to make the application work as it was in IIS 5.1. Can anybody please help... Thanks, Saurabh
