problem backing up to external USB drive
I'm using Server 2008 R2 and am trying to setup a backup. I bought a 4GB USB3 drive to backup to but the Windows Server Backup fails right after going through "Scanning File System" and "Files Found" complete, even if I try to do a
small sample backup. If I backup to an internal SATA drive the backup works fine, it only fails to the USB backups. I've tried converting the drive to both GPT and MBR disks and even created a small partition to simulate the size of the internal SATA that
works, but still no go. Think I have a compatibility problem, and has anybody else run into this?

Update - it turns out that Windows Server Backup doesn't support external drives that have 4k sectoring rather than 256k. Anybody know how to update the sectoring on these drives or should I just return them and, if not, what brands / models of 4TB external drives use 256k sectoring?
Thanks in advance
