outbound/upload problems
Hello, I have recently deployed R2 standard server which will not sufficiently copy any files off to any other resource. Download speeds are fine and I can copy large files from other WAN resouces or a server on the same swith without a problem. Attempts to copy even small files to any other resource drag. R2 goes through the discovery phase, then copies at very minimal speeds. I have disabled AV and Firewall, no change. Any ideas?

Hello, Ryan_WH, We may need more information to analyze the issue. What is the target OS you attempt to copy file to? How is the copy speed you can see? How did you copy files? By Windows Explorer or By copy command or by other copy utility? Thanks. Best Regards, David ShenThis posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights.

Hello, thanks for the reply. The target OS can be Windows Server 2003, 2000, XP, or Vista. The upload speed is <20 Kb/S to a server on the same switch running Server 2003 R2. The same file copying from the 2003 to 2008 server is almost instantaneous. The file copies are run from explorer --drag/drop or copy/paste. The nic link speed is 100 Mb full duplex. Hope this helps, any information you can provide is appreciated. Thanks, Ryan Curtin.

Hi Ryan_WH,I am following up on the issue you have posted earlier. I wanted to know if you are still looking for assistance on the issue ? If so please do provide us the netmon trace, because we would anlayze the SMB protocol and its behavior which is difficult to predict without trace or it is possible to debug the problem when enabling the rdr tracing but it is very premature to enable the rdr tracing .
