offline
I have transferred the users documents from old server (win server 2008 ) to new server (windows 2008 R2 ) . Note : the documents offline available . On old server the client can access to documents normally with good speed , now on new server the clients complain from speed ( very slow to open documents or view the folders ) . when the connection disconnected the folder offline is working with normal speed , with connection enable the folder offline is not working fine . If you know what is the reason please help me . Please note the Symantec online scanner is disabled and network performance is very good .

Hi, The first thing you have to do is to install the latest service pack and updates for the affected servers. A computer that is running Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2 takes four minutes to open a Microsoft Office 2003 document from a network share http://support.microsoft.com/kb/982860 List of currently available hotfixes for the File Services technologies in Windows Server 2008 and in Windows Server 2008 R2 http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2473205 Slow network performance when you open a file that is located in a shared folder on a remote network computer http://support.microsoft.com/kb/829700 Windows Explorer and SMB Traffic http://blogs.technet.com/b/askperf/archive/2007/09/21/windows-explorer-and-smb-traffic.aspx BrentPlease remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question.
