Server is a IBM 3650 with 32gb ram running w2k8 server standard sp2.Everytime it is rebooted it insists it has found a new network which I then have to set to private, to get back to normality I need to disable the network adapter and then renenable it.

Hi, Please make sure the latest IBM drivers were installed: http://www.ibm.com/products/finder/us/finders?pg=ddfinder&Ntt=x3650&lc=en&sid=382075201258959540055&tmpl=/products/finder/us/en/finders&Ntk=text_gensearch&cm_re=other-_-suprcn-_-download&N=1000363&collectionN=0&cc=us&finderN=1000188& And check if X3650 is compatible with Windows Server 2008 from the link below: Windows Server catalog http://www.windowsservercatalog.com/results.aspx?text=x3650&bCatID=1282&avc=10&ava=0&OR=5&chtext=&cstext=&csttext=&chbtext= If the drivers are up to data and X3650 is compatible with Windows Server 2008, please help to collect MPS report for research: 1) Download proper MPS Report tool from the website below. Microsoft Product Support Reports http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=CEBF3C7C-7CA5-408F-88B7-F9C79B7306C0&displaylang=en 2) Double-click to run it, if requirement is not met, please follow the wizard to download and install them. After that, click Next, when the "Select the diagnostics you want to run" page appears, select "General", "Server Components", click Next. 3) After collecting all log files, choose "Save the results", choose a folder to save <Computername>MPSReports.cab file. Please use Windows Live SkyDrive (http://www.skydrive.live.com/) to upload the file and then give us the download address. Hi, Thank you for update. From the log files, we can find the problem device is "ROOT\VMS_MP\0001". As far as I know, its a Hyper-V virtual network adapter. During boot, could you verify the device is "ROOT\VMS_MP\0001"? If so, lets try to remove and rebuild all Hyper-V networks for troubleshooting. Open Hyper-V Manager, right-click your server, choose Virtual Network Manager, select your first Virtual networks, click Remove. If the problem still occurs, try to remove all virtual networks to test. Restart the server, if the error doesnt occur, try to recreate virtual networks again. Thanks.

I removed both the virtual adapter and the virtual machine. Hyper-V is not needed on this server apart from by Backup Exec for its Agent for Microsoft Virtual Servers.Rebooted the sever and it still found two adapters which are both the same (BASP Virtual Adapter). First Network & Sharing Centre reported one with local & internet, then it showed two with local only (internet still worked) then when i had disabled the adapter in Manage Network connections and then enabled it things were showing as one connection with local and internet as it should be.Does that give you any clues?

Hi, If Hyper-v is not needed, we can try to remove the Hyper-V role to narrow down the cause. Or reinstall the Virtual Switch driver. 1. Close Hyper-V manager 2. Close ncpa.cpl 3. "net stop nvspwmi" (from an elevated prompt) 4. "netcfg.exe -u VMS_PP" (from an elevated prompt) 5. "netcfg.exe -c p -i VMS_PP" (from an elevated prompt) 6. Reboot the server. 1. Change HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Setup\LogLevel to 0x2000ffff 2. Reboot Please use Windows Live SkyDrive (http://www.skydrive.live.com/) to upload \windows\inf\setupapi.app.log and \windows\inf\setupapi.dev.log and then give me the download address. Thanks.
