network card issue after SP2 install
I installed sp 2 for windows 2008 enterprise (x86) on 2 separate servers and both gave me the same issue. I'm not 100% sure it was SP2 that did this but it was definitely after updates. Both servers have dual NIC's and are part of 2 separate
NLB clusters. Upon rebooting both NIC"s on the servers are enabled, did not lose their settings in the IPv4 section but the server reports i'm not connected to any networks in the system tray area. I've tried resetting the tcp/ip stack with no
luck. The only thing that seems to work is to go to device manager unistall each NIC and then run a HW scan and windows will reinstall the NIC's. The problem is I lose my NLB cluster and have to rejoin the nodes to the cluster not to mention i lose access
to the servers remotely. I cant find any known issues or KB"s on this...anyone have any ideas please forward them along...thanks

I have not heard of any issues with NICs in regards to Windows Server 2008 and updating to SP2. From you posting it appears that you are no longer experiencing the issue. I am curious though, when you did the hardware scan, were the NIC drivers updated?
Also please let me know if you still have a system that has not been updated.
