need to know what these 2 security template settings do exactly - LSAAnonymousNameLookup and ClearTextPassword
hello, in a security template, what do the following settings do/mean? I have googled but only see example files with these in them but no real definition or description. [System Access] ClearTextPassword = 0 LSAAnonymousNameLookup = 0 also, any difference when applied to a server 2003 vs. a server 2008 machine?

Hi, The ClearTextPassword indicates whether passwords MUST be stored by using reversible encryption. http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc232772(v=PROT.10).aspx Based o my understanding, the LSAAnonymousNameLookup is the policy Network access: Allow anonymous SID/Name translation. This security setting determines if an anonymous user can request security identifier (SID) attributes for another user. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc728431(WS.10).aspxThis posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights.
