I have dns servers at major sites but  I can only see the current zones at each

example: west coast dns has san Francisco office, san mateo

east coast has LI and NYC locations.

I would like to understand how this was setup. any links?

are this Windows DNS Server and which version do you run? How are the zone replication settings configured for each domain?

Please describe your forest/domain setup more detailed so we can understand it better.

Would you please provide more detailed information?

If clients in one site wants to resolve the clients of other site, we could configure conditional forwarder on local DNS server. Or add a secondary zone.
