media sttreaming, Server 2012 r2 esentialss

Since I've decided to retire my old WHS machine running WHS v1 I'm running some basic tasks on 2012 r2 machine (not OEM version, since I'm pretty much using this for my own home business and backing up all the machines in my household). Anyway to cut to the chase I have this issue with media streaming, I stopped a long time ago to fix this issue with remote streaming, it's just not working, why, who knows, but now I have similar issue with streaming in local network between my other machines.

This was working before, now it has same result as you are trying to stream outside the home network, window pops up and player just going round and round, any suggestions?

Also I had similar problem when media tab just disappeared from settings page and it took me some time to find out what it was.

Since I'm using Samsung SSD as primary boot disk I find out as soon as I install Samsung Magician media pack stops working, tab disappeared from settings page and only solution was to remove Samsung SSD tool and reinstall media pack. Maybe some of you find this helpful.

Hi,

Was there any related message when this situation occurred? Did this issue occur no matter what media were streamed? Before going further, we can try to give the server a reboot to see if it helps.

Thank for reply Frank, and no there was no indication or message regarding this, just happened. To be honest I probably wouldn't notice that if I didn't tried to stream video over remote web access site. It was working before, of course inside home network, from outside I have to admit it's total dead end and nobody knows way, it's been like that for everyone, there is no solution for that, yet.

Regarding reboot, there is no change after that, that was the first thing that I tried, pictures and audio files in media library are ok, the only issues I have are video files. It would be nice if this could be solved, anyway streaming is one of the things that forced me to finally retire my old WHS machine (web guide still do a pretty good job considering all) but hardware in the old WHS machine is going slowly to the end of life cycle, it's on from 2007, and I didn't change any component in it since I build it, just adding disks that's all.
