lost dns entry
hello from time to time we lost entries (PC or printer) in our dns, although we have disable scavenge? Is it possible that DHCP or aging time delete records? dnscmd /zoneprint shows a aging time on many clients why, but not at all? pc1b.company.de 3600 A 10.20.253.24 PC1C.company.de [Aging:3603486] 1200 A 10.10.162.25 Chris

Hi, Its odd. If we disable Scavenge, there should no time list in Date and time in advanced view. Like the following screenshot: Given this situation, please try to enable scavenge -> OK, and disable scavenge ->OK. Also try to restart the DNS services. Hope it helps. Hi, If you manually add the record, its a static record. And static records cannot be scavenged. The DNS server can only aging and scavenging dynamic update records. Best Regards, AidenAiden Cao TechNet Community Support
