local adminstrator vrs administrators group
We have a server 2008 in a dev environment, and some users are setup in the administrators group. The other day, they were unable to complete an install, and the only way that this got fixed, was if we logged on for them as the local administrator of the server. so my question is, what is the difference between local administrator and a user in the administrators group? thanks. were they getting permission errors or messages? 2008 has some new security features. take a look at this article on how to disable UAC. http://www.serverintellect.com/support/windowsserver2008/2008-UAC.aspxRoy Mayo | MCSE

Hi, The only cause I can suspect is Admin Approval Mode. For more information, you can refer to: User Account Control http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc772207(WS.10).aspx User Account Control Step-by-Step Guide http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc709691(WS.10).aspx Best Regards, Vincent Hu
