@exrapul - we have 1000+ client computers that are working just fine; i don't want to make the record myself;
@exrapul - this computer has a static ip configuration - so release - renew will not be usefull;
@Mr X - i allready run into that thread but the solution is not for me since our group policy os working fine for 99.99 of the client computers;

Hi octavmarius
One thing you could try is enabling the DNS Client Event Operational Log to see if it give you any more detail as to why the registeration is failing. In event viewer if you expand Applicaitons adn Services Logs --> Microsoft --> Windows --> DNS
Client Event --> Right Click the Operational Logs and select enable, now repro the problem and see if you get any errors in the log.
Thank You

Hello,
Let you clarify me one thing,your intention is why this error(ipconfig
/registerdns not working properly)coming or you want to register client PC name in DNS ?
Here is my solution to register client PC name in DNS .
Though the computer having static IP, DNS entry should be there in DNS console. So, search for the host name and delete it from DNS cosole and reboot PC.
It will automatically create DNS entry in DNS console.
