interminttent session disconnection

I got multiple complaints about sudden RemoteApp session disconnection.

Looks like it started 2 weeks ago. One, two now confirmed: multiple cases.

After reopening RemoteApp program the user gets to his last screen. But the problem becomes real.

It happens intermittent and multiple time per day. This what is declared by Helpdesk.

Environment: RDS 2012R2: 2 Brokers 2 RDSHs. Max 45 sessions splitted on 2 RDSHs (so up to 23 sessions per Host).

RDS deployed on VMWare. 4 proc 16GB RAM per server.

Business Hours : 7:00 to 19:00.

Session Settings:

End a disconnected session:  5min

Active session limit:  12 hours

Idle session limit: 1 hour

Enable automatic rconnection: checked

My first troubleshooting path:

1. RDSHs resource monitor: Proc: 15 to 25% Memory 25-35%

2. Logs on both RDSHs are clean.

Here I have a question: in event viewer Applications and Services Logs\Microsoft\Windows\RemoteApp and Desktop Connections\Admin are events 1019 - You have successfully set up the following connection: Connection name: Work Resources (shows user name and TS server).

There are 2-3 events per day. Some day no events. I can consider that this log not shows actual connections. Because I have at least 20 connections per server every day. So what those 2-3 connections per day means? Just refresh of Work Resources of couple of users instead real user connections?

Where I can see all user conections per day? With this type of log I can find out real picture and see how many times per day user established a connection and may be see the disconnection time and cause.

Everything looks fine on server side but the problem is there. I have to find out if it RDS problem. And if not to move to telecom side...

Help please...

PS Moderator please be advised that files upload (insert image) not works during last few days (at least). Tried from different networks.

Thanks.

there should be performance monitoring counters for RDS/TS to show how many users are connected, etc.

when googled for performance monitoring counters for RDS I found this:

http://blogs.msdn.com/b/rds/archive/2009/10/30/remote-desktop-load-simulation-toolset.aspx

Say I will try it.

Any general idea on what may going on with my multiple disconnections, when servers look good.

And may be you can answer this question (about event viewer things)

you don't need to perform a load simulation test, just launch perfmon.exe and look for counters for RDS/TS and add them to the console

not familiar with those events logs
