installed updates not visible on 2008 R2
Hello, Here is the scenario. I have upgraded 2008 ENT 64 bit to 2008 R2 ENT 64bit. Upgrade completed successfully without any issues. Relevant info. We install patches quarterly using customized patch bundle i.e. using batch scripts. Patches are manually installed running batch file.Q1 patches were installed on the2008 ENT 64 bit before OS upgrade. When upgrade completed, I went on installing Q2 patches.Post installation, I rebooted server and checked add/remove programs, view installed updates however, none of the patches are visible !Unfortunately, I didnt check whether patches were visible when OS was upgradedI tried to install individual patches for testing purpose however I either get message " Patch not applicable" or " Patch has been already applied " I am not sure, how do I fix this issue ? Any suggestions would be very helpful and appreciated. Here are few errors which I have noticed and I think they might help troubleshooting, not exactly sure though. @ Moderators - If this post doesn't belong to General section, please move it to the appropriate forum. =================================== Log Name: System Source: Service Control Manager Date: 4/16/2012 8:54:29 PM Event ID: 7032 Task Category: None Level: Error Keywords: Classic User: N/A Computer: server.domain.com Description: The Service Control Manager tried to take a corrective action (Restart the service) after the unexpected termination of the Windows Modules Installer service, but this action failed with the following error: An instance of the service is already running.
