Problem is in missing or misconfigured file(s) in system partition. If you have no CD/DVD drive on your notebook, the there is solution based on the USB drive. In system partition there are the following items: Directories: $RECYCLE.BIN , BOOT, SYSTEM VOLUME INFORMATION (disregarding upper and lower case) Files: bootmgr, BOOTSECT.BAK You do not have system file BCD in directory boot. Solution: Boot Windows from external USB memory. You should prepare either minimal operating system with some help and missing files, or install full operating system on USB. See please on the documentation on MS URL, Windows Resource Kit and other IT URL for the procedure description. Reference words DISKPART, WAIK, PXE,BCDboot...

Hello, which OS version are you talking about? This is important to know. Use the installation disk and work with recovery mode or repairconsole to restore the boot sector.Best regards Meinolf Weber Disclaimer: This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties or guarantees , and confers no rights.

Hi, According to “file:\boot\bcd”, the operating system should be Windows Server 2008 or above. Based on the current situation, please refer to the following Microsoft KB article to perform the startup repair: How to use the Bootrec.exe tool in the Windows Recovery Environment to troubleshoot and repair startup issues in Windows http://support.microsoft.com/kb/927392 Since you do not have optical drive, you may try to use USB storage drive or external USB optical drive to do so. For how to make a USB bootable drive with the operating system installation files, please use Option 2 of the following article: Install Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2 using a USB Key http://www.michaelhanley.org/blog/2009/12/install-windows-7-or-windows-server-2008-r2-using-a-usb-key.html Note: Since the web site is not hosted by Microsoft, the link may change without notice. Microsoft does not guarantee the accuracy of this information. In addition, if this operating system came with OEM, you may also check if you can do a startup repair with the OEM recovery option.
