how to hide shared folders from just one user?
Hi, I have a client with a 2008 R2 server that acts a domain controler/file server
The client has a bunch of shares on the server.
They want to add a new user, but they only want to give access to one folder on the network. that part is easy.
But they want to be able to hide the other shares from being seen. The user doesnt have access to the shares, but he can still view the share and see there names.
im not sure why all the sudden its an issue and why this user, but they want to do it.
Basically there are some folder shares such as American Express share, that they dont want him asking questions about.
Is there a gpo or something that will allow me to hide all shares from him.
I know we can add the $ symbol to hide shares, but then there hidden from everyone, they where hoping not to have to do that
Hopefully that made sense

Hi Mike,
Thanks for posting in Microsoft TechNet forums.
I don't think it is possible to hide shared folders from one specific user account. We can check the thread below for similar discussions.
