how can I disable udp port 514 in server 2003?
I'm trying to install a SYSLOG server on my 2003 server and keep getting an error that UDP 514 is being used. What application is using this and how can I disable/uninstall it? Thanks Leon

From http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc959828.aspx 514 UDP syslog By default that port is not used by Windows itselft, it need a syslog role, and that role is not available, you need a third part program. Are you running any other syslog tool ? or you might have changed the port of one service to use 514 ? Do a netstat -ano, and check to be sure something listen on that port, might be your program installation that is not ok. MCP | MCTS 70-236: Exchange Server 2007, Configuring
