hello, i have few windows 2003 servers, having hight CPU due to taskmgr.exe, spoolsv.exe, explore.exe, iexplorer.exe .. this problem cause slowness and bad system response , all servers are batched to latest batches from microsoft, antivirus installed and do not report any local problem. any help is highly appreciated. Check the eventlogs and/or Hardware-vendor-Logs for any errors, if you still got no idea whats happening, take the servers offline if possible and try the following: A rather high level approach to this: 1) start with a as clean as possible bootup. Use MsConfig to disable all non-windows (non-microsoft) components and reboot. 2) Problem solved? Now re-enable the disabled services one by one until you find the root cause. When you can not take the servers offline you may diagnose this with perfmon and processmonitor.
