general questions about essentials server

hi,

1-is windows essential server 2011,2012 or 2012r2 are nano servers?

2-when you encrypt files on server and backup it with encryption  can you retore it when it is needed whitout any problem?

3-when server gets real problems  as  physical  server or as VM server installed on hyper-v  is the repair from Cd is the  only option besides the restore it from the backup ? 

or there is also onother possibilities like reset or fabriek settings as in windows 8.1?

Hi,

1- No (2011 is SBS not essentials), here some more info on nanoservers

2 - Yes, provided you have your encryption key, read here

3 - you can't restore to factory setting, moreover in a server OS it wouldn't have much sense, especially these type of servers which are also domain controllers

1 -they are OSs for small business

2 - there is no such a version, please read the article I referred to:

No, they have a full GUI, a windows core installation has no GUI.
