gPCFileSysPath attribute

Hello,

In dsa.msc I have edited gPCFileSysPath attribute of certain GPO from \\contoso.com\sysvol\contoso.com\Policies\{55E212E7-3D00-4D82-9883-2596F2D7CF01} to \\contoso.com\sysvol\contoso.com\Policies\mygpo.
I also renamed this gpo path under the sysvol folder.
After this there is a problem in Group Policy Management Console: "The system cannot find the file specified".
With Sysinternals Process Monitor I see that it still tries to open
\\contoso.com\sysvol\contoso.com\Policies\{55E212E7-3D00-4D82-9883-2596F2D7CF01}\gpt.ini
But why not
\\contoso.com\sysvol\contoso.com\Policies\mygpo\gpt.ini?

Hi,

Thanks for your post.
Besides the prompt, "The system cannot....", is there any other error message in the event viewer? Please post it.
You could also open ADSI Edit to do a check
Locate the GPO in Domain--->DC--->CN=System--->CN=Policies--->CN=<GUID>--->Right click--->Properties.
Check whether the gPCFileSysPath is properly pointed to the \\server\SYSVOL\domain\Policies\<GUID>

instead of C:\WINDOWS\System32\GroupPolicy\.
Please note that if the gPCFileSysPath for a GPO is pointed to an incorrect location, the whole GPO is corrupt and will not be processed.
If it is not \\server\SYSVOL\domain\Policies\<GUID>,  please recreate it to check the problem continues.
 Best Regards,
Mary Dong
