folder hidden option is grayed
·
Hi Tech Guyz
I've created a shared folder on Server 2008 R2 name
Samir h drive, the share name of that folder is
hdrive. It was working fine but now its become hidden and i'm unable to unhide it on the server 2008 as
the hidden option is grayed out so i cant change it,
but i still have access to the shared folder (hdrive) from the client computer. Could you please advise me what i need to do to unhide the folder on the server. I've also tried
attrib command but no luck.
Many thanks
Samir

Hello,
sorry but this is Directory Services forum. Please ask then here: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/winservergen/threads
Please logon on the server that hosts the folder and make sure that you have needed NTFS permissions. Once done, change what you want.

Can you login locally on the server using administrator account and try to un-check the hidden option.Try below options.

Hi,
Try this command: attrib -H -S -R <driveletter>:\file/folder path /S /D
The folders should once again be visable, it will no longer be greyed out.

Hi,
Just wanted to leave a note here.
I had the same issue, and the command you posted worked like a charm.
Thanks!
