external network traffic between to vms on the same host

Hi

My question is regarding external network traffic between to vms on the same host.

VM A is located on host1 with an external virtual switch VLAN100

VM B is also located on host1 with the same external switch VLAN100

VM A and B generate heavy network traffic between them, but must be on an external network to communicate with other servers.

Will network traffic between A and B be host internal (filtered by the Hyper-V host) or will network traffic between the vms be go through the physical network switch which the host is attached to?

Is there any benefits regarding to network traffic if VM A and B are on the same Hyper-V host?

Thanks!

Kristian
