exchange service
Dear Sir/Madam,we havedeployed exchange service 2007in our network that has 18000 active users.on mailbox rollserver I monitor RAM and CPU every day and Isuprisingly see that 16 GiG RAM isalmost in use and the server justhas 400 to 600 MBphisycal memory available .in last weeks we have some reports on delay on sending and recieving email messages .what should we do ?doesExchange service 2007support "server clustering" ? if so ,does it reallyeffect the perfomance ?also I was thinking of adding more phisycal memory(RAM) to the server ,.can it be a good solutionor not ?I will be really appreciated if you help me inthis case.kind regards.kianoosh nazem

Exchange 2007 supports for two different types of clustering. The first one, Single Copy Cluster (SCC), requires shared storage and uses a single database file for each store database. SCC clusters are basically the same as traditional clusters with some improvements in Exchange 2007. The second type of clustering is Cluster Continuous Replication (CCR). CCR is similar to Local Continuous Replication (LCR) clusters where two copies of the Exchange storage group, and all stores within it, are made. This paper covers setting up and configuring Exchange 2007 in a two node Cluster Continuous Replication (CCR) cluster. The easiest option isto deploy another Exchange server and offload half the users. Exchnange 2007 has a maximum memory of 32Gig. Too much memory is never enough ! Make sure you server hardware can handle it, certain motherboards do not support 32Gig.It also depend on what Server Roles you are using. Mailbox, CAS, Hub Transport etc.Cheers Wayne
