event viewer and tasks, attaching manually
Hi all, On certain events, i want to attach a task. like on even 2057 i want to attach a task that run .vbs that send me email. the .vbs script works, and everything works great when i do it with the software GUI. i go to Event viewer and do: "Attach a task" If i have the task in an .xml file and i want to import it to another computer, how can i do it ? I saw the command: schtasks.exe /create /RU administrator /RP pass /TN 2048 /XML "C:\2048.xml" My only concern is that this add the task, but it dont connect the task to that event. am i right ? so after importing the task to task schedular, i need to attach that task to a certain event. how can i attach it with a dos command ? Thanks !

Hi, Schtasks schedules commands and programs to run periodically or at a specific time. Schtasks adds and removes tasks from the schedule, starts and stops tasks on demand, and displays and changes scheduled tasks. In my experience, it seems there is no way to attach that task to a certain event. Please refer to the following article: How to use Schtasks.exe to Schedule Tasks in Windows Server http://support.microsoft.com/kb/814596 More information: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb736357(v=vs.85).aspx Technology changes life
