event id 36887, alert 45
I have an internal certificate server, running Win2008 R2.
Back in Feb 2012 I renewed my Root CA even though it did not expire until Sept 2012.today.
When I renewed, I chose to keep the existing key pair.
After the renewal, both certificates were listed under Trusted Root Certificate Authority Certificates on client machines.
Today, I am getting event id 36887, source: Schannel, on my domain controllers with fatal alert 45, which has to do with an expired certificate.
I am very very weak on certificate knowledge.
Since I have a current root CA cert, can I ignore these events?
Thanks

Hi,
Thanks for posting in Microsoft TechNet forums.
Since the CA has been renewed successfully, it is OK that we ignore this warning if no application error is received.
Have a nice day.
