event id 1530 Windows detected your registry file is still in use
Hi Folks; I'm seeing millions of these events on all of our '08 R2 Servers; Event ID 1530 Windows detected your registry file is still in use by other applications or services. The file will be unloaded now. The applications or services that hold your registry file may not function properly afterwards. Printers\DevModePerUser These seem to occur every time I RDP into any of the servers. Does amyone have an answer/procedure that can help me stop these from occurring?

Might try turning off printer redirection in RDP settings. Regards, Dave Patrick .... Microsoft Certified Professional Microsoft MVP [Windows]

That's what I thought too at first but it is for 2003 and older. This functionality is built in to vista / 2008 kernel. http://blogs.technet.com/b/uphclean/archive/2008/02/28/windows-vista-windows-server-2008-and-uphclean.aspx Regards, Dave Patrick .... What happens if you create and logon as a new user? Event ID: 1530 may be logged in the Application log on a Windows 7-based or Windows Vista-based client computer http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;947238 Also note the comment here about this. http://www.eventid.net/display.asp?eventid=1530&eventno=8864&source=Microsoft-Windows-User Profiles Service&phase=1 Regards, Dave Patrick .... I think it's got to be related to using RDP and this portion of the error log - Printers\DevModePerUser so.... RDP and printers. The thing is, I just re-ckecked the RDP client properties and the only thing configured to share is the clipboard. It's not a big deal but it's annoying because I see it on all of our 2008 R2 machines. I was hoping someone might have come up with a work-around as it seems to be a pretty common issue (lots of reports but seemingly no answers)

Hi , can you check below registry \REGISTRY\USER\<sid>47\Printers\DevModePerUser and check if there are printers configured ? does this happen only during the RDP session or does the issue occur even at the local login ? I dont want to go with event id as its very generic with respect to applications or drivers ( there is data in the buffer which gets lost if the session ends .. ) I would like to check is , does this happens in safe mode with networking ?, i have seen issues with symantec endpoint protection installed and which causes these events.
