the subdomains are not for web application all of them , cuz some of them are been used for terminal machine, other for mail server and others. for this reason, i need different port and i dont want to make the port fixed in the local machine . thank you for reply steevoo

It is possible that this question thread might be better suited for one of the other forums that deal more specifically with networking configuration. I will move the thread. Hi steevoo, Thank you for posting here. Firstly, I’d like to explain that DNS and port are separate things. For name resolution, DNS only returns IP address. So for the normal A record, we cannot set to port number of this record. In your scenario, we can configure DNS resolve alfa.example.com/beta.example.com to 10.10.10.1. In order to access the specific services from the ports, we need to manually add the port number behind the FQDN, such as alfa.example.com :550 or beta.example.com :560. In addition, please note that using DNS directly resolve IP address with specific port number is not available. However, if the server hosts specific services or protocol, we can use SRV records to specify the location of the server, such as http and telnet. For your information about SRV records, please reference the below Microsoft articles: Description of the DNS SRV Resource Record Type http://support.microsoft.com/kb/232025 Resource Record Types http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc958958.aspx Best Regards, Aiden
