dns ,dhcp,dfs problem
I have a domain controller in windows server 2008 and when i check the event log of dns server i do get the error but when i do nslookup it resolves .. every time i start the server i do get these errors and becos of this i have error with dhcp server
which is also running in this same server and i have added a additional domain controller with this server and replication with additional domain controller is fine like when i add a user in my domain controller it adds in my additional domain
controller server aslo
the dhcp server is is also getting errors " The DHCP service failed to see a directory server for authorization."
"The DNS server is waiting for Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS) to signal that the initial synchronization of the directory has been completed. The DNS server service cannot start until the initial synchronization is complete because critical DNS
data might not yet be replicated onto this domain controller. If events in the AD DS event log indicate that there is a problem with DNS name resolution, consider adding the IP address of another DNS server for this domain to the DNS server list in the Internet
Protocol properties of this computer. This event will be logged every two minutes until AD DS has signaled that the initial synchronization has successfully completed."

Hello,
please post the complete event viewer error you have. Also give some information about the amount of DCs in use and how they are located, single subnet, single/multi domain forest.Best regards Meinolf Weber Disclaimer: This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties or guarantees , and confers no rights.

Hi
I have a server running a DC and its the forest and i have added a additional domain controller in to it .when I add a user in primary domaincontroller it adds the user in additional also but when I reboot the server the main server takes more time to boot
whereas the additional domain controller boots fast.
If i check the server manager in ADDS -Warning,DHCP -ERROR,file services-error and in dns also
the above mentioned error i do see and in addition
DFS replication service failed to contact domain controller, replication stopped
so totally i get 3 errors
1.DFS replication error
2.DNS error
3.DHCP error
when I do nslookup it resolves and when i add users it get replicates with additional domain controller but then when i reboot the server only i get these errors .
after i restarted the DHCP service it gets resolved and the DHCP SERVER authorized automatically.

Hello,
is the second DC also DNS and Global catalog server? Please post an unedited ipconfig /all from both DCs here so we can verify some settings. At the moment it sounds for me as DNS isn't configured optimal.Best regards Meinolf Weber Disclaimer: This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties or guarantees , and confers no rights.

Hello,
make the second DC also DNS server and check before that you use on the first DC AD integrated zones, then only the DNS server role has to be added and AD replication will do the rest, just give it some time for replication.
In a single forest domain make all DCs Global catalog server. No problem with that.
Please copy the complete event viewer errors you have here so we can verify.Best regards Meinolf Weber Disclaimer: This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties or guarantees , and confers no rights.
