Hi,
Does the server has a static IP ?
Have you a dedicated subnet for your servers ?
Is there a DHCP reservation for you server ?

Hi Kits,
Login into your system and use NBTSTAT command. Then check for the another host which having same IP.
1. Open CMD prompt.
2.Check for IP which is showing in ipconfig/all output.
3. NBTSTAT -A <IP Addr>
then it will show the host names which is having smae IP address.
After you have done all the above steps go to DHCP/DNS console and delete the host name which causing IP conflict.Regards, Ravikumar P

Since you have a conflict issue then there should be another computer in your network which is using this IP address. For this IP address, you can exclude it from your DHCP if it should be assigned as a static IP address to another host.

This is a dynamic IP under DHCP server

As you said, if it is a dynamic IP,
Server side:delete it from DHCP console and reboot the server. Hope it will take new IP rather than the OLD.
Client side: perform 3 commands i.e. ipconfig/flushdns, ipconfig/release and ipconfig/renew.Regards, Ravikumar P

No the issue is still there.. We see that in Dns and dhcp host register itself as 00000000.vam.cng.com.Even after delting it multiple times from DHCp and dns entry this entry keeps coming. The IP address assigned to 000 host needs to be assigned to desktop
but since this record keeps registering we are unable to do this.. Is there way to identify where we can find host 00000000.vam.cng.com?kits

Hello Kits,
Thanks for posting again.
Do this final try, remove the host(whose host name showing as 000000) from the domain and rejoin it.Regards, Ravikumar P

Remove in the sense, de-join it from domain (bring it to Work group), restart it once and then rejoin it to domain again.Regards, Ravikumar P
