I have a dcom server that I have been testing on Win Server 2008. Today I am unable to connect to the server. and am getting RPC Server Unavailable errors from the client. The weird thing is that when I run dcomcnfg the Enable DCOM check box is unchecked on the Default Properties tab. If I do check the check box the drop downs for the communications properties are empty. At this point clicking any button causes component services to terminate. Oddly enough this was working last week. Any suggestions on how to correct this problem would be appreciated.
