copying of data from server to local machine
hello, we have installed windows server2003 enterprise edition in our office we have created a domain and all the users are connected to that domain. The problem we are facing is when a user is connected to server through domain login and if he wants to copy data from server to local machine(in the sense to drives C,D and E)...he/she is not able to copy data from server to client local machine. It is saying access denied message even if we are given full controls to that user kindly solve the issue..

Have you given both the appropriate share permissions as well as the ntfs permissions? http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc784499(v=ws.10).aspx http://support.microsoft.com/kb/271071

Hello, If the issue is when copying locally then you have to check permissions on the local computer. If the issue is with the share then please note that NTFS and Share permissions are combined and user will be granted the less of them if he access the folder as a share. For that, if all is okay with your NTFS permissions for the shared folder, you can just grant full control permission as a share permission. Like that, the given NTFS permissions will be applied locally and if the user access the folder as a share. This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties or guarantees , and confers no rights.
