converting boot partition from Basic to Dynamic Disk
I know how to do the conversion but can't find the answer to my question. I have a server setup with a single drive which is partitioned 100GB for c: drive and 375 GB for e: drive. I now want to add a second drive in order to create a Raid 1, mirror.
I know that I must first convert the disk to dynamic. In converting the first drive to dynamic, will this format my drive, thus force me to reinstall everything?

Hello,
convertiong Basic to Dynamic will normally work without data loss or formatting. Dynamic to Basic will require it.
But you should of course make a backup BEFORE STARTING of all needed data, in case something fails. See here about requirements:
