contentclass:spspeople returns 0

Hello,

I am trying to set up people search using the link below:

http://www.sharepointconfig.com/2013/05/how-to-create-a-simple-sharepoint-2013-people-directory/

I am stuck on point 4, as the query "contentclass:spspeople" does not return anything. Things I tried:

1. I can see new users profiles added to SP so I assume the AD crawl process works ok

2. I run a query for contentclass=STS_Site which returns only 9 profiles, for users who have my site.

How do I know if the user has the spspeople assigned? Is this a domain attribute assign by sharepoint? Can somebody please explain this query in a bit more detail, and point to resolution of the problem?

Thanks in advance,

Peter

I just found the list of different values for the ContentClass and some return some values i.e. Site: STS_Web, List: STS_List; but other return O result. Should every value return something?

make sure that your user profile is been crawled  check crawl source start address contains the below

sps3://url_to_mysite_host

Under Content Source for crawl process I have:

http://ServerName.domain

sps3://ServerName.domain

http://ServerName

sps3://ServerName

Is this enough or do I need to add any more? Also, how can I tell if the process actually crawl through user accounts?
