i cannot connect to the domain on my server.i can ping from the server to the desktop, but NOT from the desktop to the server.can someone help me out?regards,hans

First of all - Do you have Firewall runing on the server on at the client ?What is your network topology ?

Whati mean was Is there any routers,firewalls between Domain Controller and Client ?If you are using Firewall on DC you should open ports for communication http://support.microsoft.com/kb/555381What Client and What server you are using ? Do you have any 3rd party Firewalls in your organization? Ping in only one direction comes from missconfigured Firewall on server side or some network device between Server and Client

hvpnetwadmin.net :server root domain (dns)there is a switch( eminent em4412 - 8port) in between the desktop and servermy dsl modem - router has ip 192.168.1.1
