Hello, it is not required, you can readd the machine to the domain also if it still exist in AD UC. Just make sure the permission are set correct if a non-Adminstrator re-join it: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/932455Best regards Meinolf Weber Disclaimer: This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties or guarantees , and confers no rights.

so If I understood correctly even if a pc was named office1 and then re-installed and named back office1, there will be no problems with Active Directory telling that computer already exists or some other error ? If not I really thought otherwise. Also if I name it differently, will ADUC keep old computer names forever or will delete them after a certain ammount of time 1 year or more ? Thanks

Hello, if your account has the correct permission it will add the machine with the existing name. No AD will not remove accounts after a specific time. Think about high mobile users or home workers that come back to the company after 1-2 years(i know, that's not the case) and they are kickeck out automatically? You have to do it yourself and a really good tool is OldCmp from joeware: http://www.joeware.net/freetools/tools/oldcmp/index.htm, can also be used for user accounts.Best regards Meinolf Weber Disclaimer: This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties or guarantees , and confers no rights.
