changing user profile location
What I want to do is to change the location, for example, if first time user loggin to domain from client instead of users profiles to be stored in c:\documents and settings\ I want them in other partition (automatically) as d:\documents and settings\ but for the whole system. Meaning that apply for All Users, Default User, Guest, Administrator, and so on. Any procedure to accomplish it?Any help is welcome...

Hi, Meinolf provided the method during installation. If you don't want to reinstall all the computers, there is another method you can choose. 1. Download junction.exe from the following link. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896768.aspx 2. After you create a user such as User1, login with User1 and then log out. 3. Login with the build-in administrator, move the profile folder of User1 to the location you want.(I assume D:\Users here) 4. Navigate to the folder of juction located, open CMD prompt command line, run the following command: ------------------------------------------------------------- junction D:\Users\User1 "C:\Documents and settings\User1" ------------------------------------------------------------- You can replicate the above steps for other users. In addition, in the system like Windows Vista and above, you can use the build-in command mklink to achieve this goal. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc753194(WS.10).aspx In addition, youcan just use theabove command to link the profile to the usersif you havea reinstallation, all the settings willkept.
